The Brits 2016: highlights and winners

We hope you all tuned in to last night's Brit Awards and if you didn't, find a way to catch up today. It was a night of epic proportions all round. Ant & Dec hosted the show for their last time (we're genuinely sad about this) but were on top form as always. Dec's face when that scantily clad girl camera-bombed was just a picture! He didn't know where or who to look at, and neither did we. They interacted with the crowds and gave everyone, not just the winners, air time. Even Simon Cowell got a comedy cameo. Well obviously, no music show is a real music show without his face popping up somewhere.

Aside from the worthy winners, the live performances were SO GOOD. Can we just take a moment please to recall the live acoustic duet from our beloved James Bay and Justin Bieber singing Love Yourself. WOW. It was unexpected, glorious and beautiful. The human who decided to put these two 'Js' together deserves their own award. Of course we instantly recognised that it was James on the guitar, because that statement hat has never been removed since 1998.

Dare we even move on to mention Rihanna's duet with Drake? She has never looked so good, and those swishy white trousers emphasized all of her dance moves to create the most stunning display. Then Drake rocks up, bends her over and just wins at life. Drake, you may be bowing down to Riri but we're in awe of the pair of you.

Now, for our favourite live performance. It has to be, without a shadow of a doubt, Lorde paying homage to the legendary David Bowie. Whilst some critics hit out at Lady Gaga for ruining Bowie's tribute at the Grammys this year, there is an undeniable love for Lorde's delicate, deep and meaningful approach to Bowie's iconic Life On Mars song. Her performance is an absolute must watch.

There is one act we've yet to mention, because we're saving the best until last. We want to slightly rename the show to: "The Adele Awards 2016". She was the outright winner scooping hoards of Brits (keep on reading for winners) and we could not be happier. Adele has this unique ability to relate to everyone through her music AND her personality. We also thoroughly enjoyed the non-bleeped swearing in her acceptance speech - it wouldn't be Adele without it! She closed the entire show with her stunning live rendition of When We Were Young, making us all feel all the feels.
